10-year-old Joshua Czaja from Goring is holding a charity football fun day to raise money for the British Heart Foundation at Worthing United’s ground.
Two years ago Joshua’s Grandad suffered an unexpected heart attack and without the research and hard work of the British Heart Foundation his Grandad might not have been with us today. He had two stents placed into his arteries and is getting back to full health.
Last year Joshua raised £320 when he made and sold loom band bracelets from home and decided to fundraise again this year.
Joshua said: “Please donate what you can and please come along on the day as there will be lots of things going on throughout the day.”
Activities on the day include childrens’ books stall, cake stall, face painting, penalty shootout, bouncy castle and inflatable slide, tarot reading, raffle, mini tournaments (winning team win medals), barbecue, Worthing Thunder stall, pro star football, singers, cheerleaders (performing), performing arts (performing), drinks, sweet stall, Active8 for kids and carnival ice cream van. The club bar will be open.
The raffle is being announced by Worthing Town Crier Bob Smytherman.
Bob said: “As Town Crier I am looking forward to supporting this football fun day and proud to help Joshua raise much needed funds for the British Heart Foundation. Joshua’s grandfather was so well supported after his heart attack. I would urge people to pop along and support this great family event or even make a donation online.”
The football fun day is from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm on Sunday July 19th at Worthing United Football Club, Lyons Way, Worthing.
