19 year-old woman assaulted in Gratwicke Road burglary


A 19 year-old woman  was assaulted and a large amount of cash stolen in a robbery at a Gratwicke Road, Worthing flat on Saturday (June 15th). 

Police attended following reports  the young woman opened the door to leave the property at around 12.15 pm when she was confronted by the suspects.   She was pushed to the floor and verbally threatened. The suspects after an untidy search left with thousands of pounds in cash, an Ipad and Iphone.

Detective Sergeant Kevin Scullion from West Sussex CID: “This was a frightening incident which has understandably left the victim very shaken.

“We believe that it may have been a targeted attack and would appeal to anyone who knows who is responsible or saw any suspicious activity in the area to please get in touch. You can call 101 quoting serial 784 of June 15th or alternatively leave an anonymous message with the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The suspects who forced their way into the property are both described as black and around 6 foot. One wore a black jacket over a white shirt and black bottoms and the other all black clothing. There may have been another two men waiting outside the property.
