Worthing County Local Committee unanimously rejected 20 mph limits on residential roads tonight (Wednesday November 19th).
The committee debated the report of the consultation on 20 mph limits in Worthing residential streets which recommended to agree to not progress the proposed introduction of a town-wide 20 mph speed limit.
18,911 individual respondents voted with 5,796 (30.6%) voting ‘Yes’ and 13,115 (69.4%) voting ‘No’. Every County division in Worthing voted ‘No’.
County Local Committee Chair Paul High advised councillors can look at individual roads if they feel a 20 mph limit is needed.
