The 20th Mayor’s charity swim takes place for the first time in the new Splashpoint pool on March 22nd. This year the annual event will raise funds for charities chosen by Mayor Bob Smytherman.
Over the last 19 years the event has raised more than £100,000 for local charities and organiser Trudi Starling is hoping for the best year yet.
Trudi said: “This is the 20th charity swim and the 20th time I have organised the event. I am especially delighted to do so this year as Bob is such a popular Mayor.
“All ages and abilities are welcome – you don’t even need to be able to swim to take part!
“Have fun, get wet and raise funds. That’s all that matters.””
Every entrant will have a certificate and all fundraisers will receive a medal from the Mayor at a presentation in May.
Further details are on the websites or contact Trudi at firstname.lastname@example.org or 07721 414239.
The Mayor’s charities are Guild Care, Mind and the Alzheimer’s Society.
