50 year-old Worthing woman arrested for serious assault

 

A 50-year-old Worthing woman has been arrested on suspicion of assault and released on bail until July 15th.   The arrest was in connection with a man assaulted and suffering a serious head injury in Halewick Lane, Sompting, in the early hours of Sunday June 16th.

The 21-year-old man was found lying on the ground at the top of the lane at 2.45am.  He was taken to Hurstwood Park neurological unit at Haywards Heath to undergo surgery where he is in a serious but stable condition.

Detective Sergeant Alex Lowe said: “We are appealing for witnesses because we believe there maybe other people involved in this assault. The man has suffered a serious head injury. He was taken to Worthing Hospital initially but then transferred to Hurstwood Park neurological unit for surgery.”
