61-year-old man suffers broken eye-socket in Worthing restaurant assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault on a 61-year-old man who was attacked in a Spanish restaurant in Graham Road, Worthing, on Saturday (December 13th).

The man was eating a meal when he tried to stop a fight that had broken out inside the restaurant between 9.30 pm and 10.00 pm. He suffered a broken eye socket after he was punched in the face by a man who was unknown to him.

The man is described as a white, aged in his late 30s, with short dark hair and ruddy cheeks. He is also believed to have been part of an 18th birthday celebration meal at the restaurant.

PC Alex Brown said: “This was a vicious unprovoked attack that has left a customer, who was unconnected to the fight, with potentially life changing injuries.

“The restaurant was very busy that night and there would have been a lot of witnesses.
