Worthing Writers Group are staging Wilde about Worthing on the seafront at Splash Point on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th June to celebrate Worthing’s literary past and present.
Wilde about Worthing is not just about Oscar but will be an evening of extracts from classic writers of Worthing’s past including Jane Austen, Harold Pinter and the Romantic poets who visited.
Interspersed with the classics will be pieces by present day writers and there is a competition for local writers to write a scene, monologue, poem or short story about living in Worthing now. There will be poetry, music ,dance and songs.
Melody said: “We are excited to be gathering together so many talented local people. If you are a writer or performer please do get in touch. We think we will have a huge audience for our celebration of local talent.”
