Armed robbery at Worthing betting shop

 

Police are appealing to witnesses after an armed robbery at a Worthing betting shop on Monday (March 9th).

Two men, each armed with a handgun, went into Ladbrokes in Rowlands Road at 6.40 pm and demanded cash from the staff member.

One of the men stole about £170 cash from the safe. No one was hurt and the shop was empty at the time.

The first man was wearing a light grey hood and scarf over his face, a black jacket, dark trousers and white trainers and the other man was wearing a black jacket with the hood up.

Detective Constable Jane Mills said: “We are appealing for witnesses to come forward. Please contact police if you saw these men or anyone acting suspiciously in the area.”
