Award winning Zimbabwean poet at Worthing spoken word event

‘Eat Your Words’ at a candle-lit night of poetry, prose and a buffet meal at Munch Coffee Bar in the Royal Arcade in central Worthing from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm on Thursday July 9th.

Award-winning Zimbabwean poet, Togara Muzanenhamo, will be reading from his second collection, Gumiguru. Gumiguru is ‘a hymn to the veldt, the farms and villages, and the men and women whose lives are interwoven with the land and the changing seasons.’

Muzanenhamo will be supported by poet and translator, Caroline Maldonado (Your Call Keeps Us Awake, What They say in Avenale), and novelist, Niyati Keni, (Esperanza Street). The authors will be discussing the themes that connect their work: landscape, belonging and displacement.

The entry price of £6.00 covers the buffet. Drinks can be bought separately. Munch is a licensed venue. Tickets will be limited and are available online through Skiddle or Eventbrite.
