Worthing businesses wishing to become an installer under the Green Deal are invited to a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event held by The Sussex Energy Saving Partnership (SESP) in October.
SESP holds the event on October 30th at 4.00 pm at the West Durrington Northbrook College campus. The programme includes national initiatives like Green Deal and ECO (the Energy Company Obligation) plus other energy saving programmes.
Local authorities across East and West Sussex and Brighton & Hove City Council are all working together to improve the energy efficiency of all properties in their areas.
The ‘Meet the Buyer’ business events are designed to help companies interested in either becoming an installer of energy saving measures or carrying out work as an assessor.
To install Green Deal energy saving measures, businesses must have Green Deal Installer Certification, which can cost between £1,250 and £2,500.
To help towards this cost, West Sussex County Council, with the Sustainable Business Partnership, are offering grants of up to £1,000.
Louise Goldsmith, Leader of West Sussex County Council said: “This is a massive opportunity for local businesses and shows we’re serious about helping the local economy.
“This represents a huge investment in Sussex.
“It’s there for us to make a real difference to people’s lives by making homes warmer and more energy-efficient, whilst boosting business growth.”
