Broadwater residents puzzled by “Pay and Display”

“Pay and Display” signs and meter appearing in Bashfords Lane, Broadwater puzzle local residents as the road has Worthing Borough Council street nameplates.   One “pay and display” sign as our picture shows even covers up the street name.

Worthing Borough Council (WBC) confirms Bashfords Lane is a private road and the “pay and display” is quite  legal.  WBC engineers are ordering new street nameplates without the WBC logo to reduce the confusion.

The pay and display is monitored by Napier Parking Ltd of Milton Keynes.

Napier Parking Ltd is a British Parking Association Approved Operator with a solid appeals process for any notices issued.
