Friday (April 5th) to Sunday (April 8th) was a busy weekend for Worthing’s Fire and Rescue Service.
On Friday afternoon they rescued a cat after two days stuck up a tree in Whitebeam Road. They assisted a RSPCA officer at the scene and left the cat in the officer’s care.
In the early hours of Saturday morning they attended flooding in a Western Place ground floor flat caused by a leaking washing machine in the flat above. They isolated the water supply and gave advice to the occupants in the flooded flat.
Another cat was rescued on Saturday morning after 24 hours 40 foot up a tree in Church Walk. The cat was left in the care of a RSPCA officer.
Sunday saw two fires at Chesswood Road and Alverstone Road both accidental. The first was a laptop computer and the second a shed.
