Chamber Networking Breakfast discusses Greater Brighton

Worthing & Adur Chamber of Commerce hold a networking breakfast tomorrow (Friday May 24th) to discuss “Greater Brighton”.   The Chamber asks members and guests whether they are happy to be part of the concept.

Guest speaker John Mitchell, Strategic Director for Adur & Worthing Councils, will give an insight into City Deals.

John has been involved as the Adur and Worthing Council representative on City Deal from day one of the project, he sits on the City Deal High Level Project Board and has met with Whitehall officials to negotiate and promote the Greater Brighton City Deal.

Worthing and Adur are considered to be part of the Greater Brighton area and are part of this deal.

20 cities and their surrounding areas were invited to compete for the opportunity to negotiate a City Deal. The deals would see government give powers to the city in exchange for the city taking on the responsibility of creating economic growth in its area.

In January 2013, each city submitted an initial proposal on how to improve a serious local economic problem.

The Chamber Networking Breakfast is at Shoreham Airport on Friday May 24th at 7.30 am.  Cost for Members is £11.00 and for Non-Members £18.00.
