Chatsmore ‘Game of Thrones’ boy describes his West End Experience

With Worthing girl Ellie Earl gaining a scholarship from West End Experience on Saturday (June 28th) former winner Chatsmore schoolboy Brenock O’Connor describes what Ellie can look forward to.

Brenock said:West End Experience is incredible.  On my first day, I was a mess.  I was so nervous because I knew no one there and I was worried I wouldn’t  fit in. I was in tears for the first part of the first day, but when I > started talking to people, I realized they were all lovely.

“During that week, I grew more and more confident and made more and more friends.  In the years since I have had so much fun in the week and I met my two best  friends I have there. The teachers are incredible and so supportive and  I can’t think of any other place that you get the opportunity to perform with West End stars. West End Experience was and still is the best week of my summer.

“Last year I was offered the crazy opportunity of a small part in Game Of Thrones.  I love theatre work and I have done since I can remember, but  television is a new love of mine over the past few years. The chance to  work on such a huge set was unbelievable and I loved every second of it. Everyone was so lovely on set; cast and crew and it was an experience I  will never forget.

“It was incredible when I got to meet Vinnie Jones in the ‘Staying Alive’ British Heart Foundation advert. I loved that advert because  not only did I get to meet Vinnie Jones, I also learnt an incredible skill that could come in handy in later life.

“I also had the amazing experience of touring in Cameron Mackintosh’s ‘Oliver!’ playing the part of the Artful Dodger.  I went to see it while it was still in London and I knew that I wanted to be a part of  something like that. Working alongside Neil Morrissey (Fagin), Samantha Barks (Nancy) and Iian Fletcher (Bill Sykes) was a dream come true.

“I thank the teachers at West End Experience and The Theatre Workshop  where I train weekly, for giving me the support and training enabling me to achieve my dreams.”
