Chesswood School WW1 research exhibited

Chesswood School WW1 research exhibited

Chesswood School pupils have been researching for the last few months the World War One (WW1) names on two Worthing war memorials from Sussex Road and St. George’s schools.  The work by the Year 7 children (11 and 12 year olds) is exhibited at the Sidney Walter Centre, Worthing (formerly Sussex Road School) on Friday July 4th and Saturday July 5th.

Local historians Chris Hare and Phil Wood who worked with the children will be giving awards at 10.30 am on the Friday to the Chesswood pupils who undertook the best research and the best presentation.  Other pupils will be reading poems they have written about the First World War which are also of a high standard.

The free exhibition is open on both days from 10.00 am and 4.00 pm.

The Sidney Walter Centre is in Sussex Road, Worthing.
