Worthing’s local historian Chris Hare presents a three day History of Sussex course in the new year at the Sidney Walter Centre, Worthing.
Saturday January 31st: ‘Prehistoric and Medieval Sussex’ covers the period from pre-Neolithic times, through the Neolithic and Bronze Ages and the Roman and Saxon periods to the Battle of Hastings in 1066.
Saturday February 28th: ‘Religious & Political Upheavals’ covers the period from the Norman conquest, through a time of religious upheaval, the Age of Elizabeth and the English Civil War.
Saturday March 28th: ‘Nineteenth & Twentieth Century Sussex’ covers the Napoleonic period, the Railway Age, the First and Second World Wars and up to the present day.
The course costs £55.00 but individual days can be booked for £20.00.
Each day the course will run from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
