Our hearts go out this week to Worthing’s Filipino Community who all have been affected by Typhoon Haiyan which devastated a large area of the Phillipines.
Around 500 members of the Filipino Community live and work in Worthing and are well known in our hospitals and care homes for their friendly and caring nature.
We shared their happiness in September with the Annual Worthing Filipino Festival – a celebration of Filipino culture and tradition in the UK. Now we share their sadness at their time of need.
Many Worthingites are stepping up to the plate to help and Worthing Daily asks their readers to join with them. Worthing Baptist Church holds a special service today with donations to the typhoon appeal.
Collections of clothes, bedding, towels, non-perishable packet or canned food are being made at Worthing’s hospitals, at Katz Cafe in Chapel Road and at Sai Cash and Carry in Brighton Road.
Visit the Worthing Filipino Community Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/worthing.filipinocommunity?fref=ts for further details and how to donate cash through their designated persons or bank account.
Please do whatever you can to support our friends in their time of need.
