Deserving causes dealt a boost in Worthing

 

Sixteen charities and organisations were awarded grants by the Worthing County Local Committee.

A host of good causes benefited from Prevention and Wellbeing Grants totalling £24,727.

The successful applicants were as follows:

•Alzheimer’s Society – £1,200;
•Bognor & Worthing Shopmobility – £2,500;
•Brainstrust – £2,400;
•Breathing Spaces – £5,000;
•Central & South Sussex Citizens Advice Bureau – £1,258;
•Coastal West Sussex MIND – £2,392;
•Contact the Elderly – £500;
•Creative Futures – £950;
•Creative Waves – £2,322;
•Cruse West Sussex – £740;
•Headway – £2,025.68;
•Lifecentre – £1,000;
•National Childbirth Trust – £1,250;
•PBC Foundation – £89.32;
•SASBAH – £800; and
•St Peters House Project – £300.

Elsewhere the Rotary Club of Worthing was granted £4,000 from the Community Initiative Fund towards the costs of a marquee for the Beach House Festival.

And £1,818 was awarded to Worthing Speaker’s Club so it can purchase equipment, learning materials, and leaflets.
