In a surprise announcement this morning a spokesman from Walt Disney Studios said the next Disneyworld would be at Teville Gate in Worthing.
Speaking from their headquarters in Burbank, California Mr D. Duck said: “We have been looking for some time for an alternative to Euro Disney that suits the Brits and Teville Gate is just the ticket for our new project – UKIP Disney.
“UKIP stands for ‘United Kingdom Is Possible’ and with a sprinkling of our usual fairy dust we are sure it will be.”
Disney have been looking at the geology of the Teville Gate site and maps of the infamous Teville Stream that many Worthingites believe flows beneath. Their studies have got Mr Duck quite excited.
Mr Duck said: “The Teville Stream flows underground down to Brooklands Park Lake and is perfect for a themed ride through the tunnels and culverts to the seafront at East Worthing. My nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie are working on the plans as we speak. ”
Reaction from Worthing Borough councillors and political parties are mixed. Both the Conservative and Green Party have come out against but UKIP and the Lib Dems welcome the bold move.
Conservative Paul Lowe said: “Disney is so last year and I would much prefer something more up to date – how about a ‘Candy Crush’ themed park?”
The Green Party agrees saying a more grown-up theme would be best and that the popular ‘Game of Thrones’ would set the right level. They are off to explore the possibilities.
UKIP said they loved the project name and wished Disney every success and the Lib Dems added their weight behind the project.
Lib Dem Leader Alan Tapioca said: “This is far from a Mickey Mouse project and deserves our wholehearted support. Anything less would be quackers.”
Work on the project is expected to start on April 1st 2015. Worthing Borough Council have until noon today to make a decision.
