Donate tools for Africa to help the poorest to help themselves

St Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church in Worthing is collecting tools today (Sunday February 23rd) in support of the charity ‘Tools for Self Reliance’.

The charity collects and refurbishes tools collected from across the UK and sends them to Malawi, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia. There they are used to assist the poorest in those communities. Haberdashery items are also collected and sent to Africa.

After each Sunday Mass boxes are available in the church for people to donate unwanted plumbing, carpentry and building tools, plus bicycle and shoe repair kits.

Haberdashery items, such as knitting, crochet, sewing and embroidery needles, plus threads, wool, material, elastic, Velcro, zips and pins can also be donated.

Tools for Self Reliance is a national charity and more information can be found at WWW.tfsr.org“,

There is another collection on Sunday March 2nd – there will be boxes inside of the entrance (car park end) at St Mary of the Angels Roman Catholic Church, Richmond Road, Worthing where people can donate items, from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm as part of the parish “Live Simply” initiative.
