Don’t delay in bidding for wellbeing grants

There is only a month left to send in applications to a West Sussex County Council grants programme that funds activities helping vulnerable adults and older people get out into the community.  West Sussex urges voluntary and community groups not to delay.

The Prevention and Wellbeing Grants Programme has a total of £190,000 and under the programme groups can apply for up to £5,000.  Applications are accepted only up to 5 April 2013.

One of the key aims is for people to get out, make friends and see others. Last year awards ranged between £170 and £5,000 and ranged from awards for lunch club equipment to venue costs for support groups.

Peter Catchpole, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Services’, said: “I would urge people to apply for funding to set up community activities.

“Last year there were some very good schemes that helped contribute to the aims of our prevention and well-being agenda and I would like to see similar projects this time around.”
