Double yellow lines proposed at The Plantation

Double yellow lines proposed at The Plantation

West Sussex County Council proposes to make a permanent Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) that will prohibit vehicles from waiting at any time (double yellow lines) on the south side of The Plantation in Worthing, from its junction with Offington Lane, westwards for a distance of approximately 20 metres.

It has been reported that when traffic is queued waiting to exit The Plantation on to Offington Lane, vehicles parked on the south side of The Plantation can, in combination with the queued traffic, obstruct vehicles turning into The Plantation from Offington Lane. When this happens it is reported that a further queue of traffic can form, obstructing Offington Lane.

The proposed restrictions are intended to address this problem by keeping the south side of The Plantation free of parked cars near the junction.

The new Order is therefore proposed to facilitate the passage of traffic.
