Discover your Victorian alter ego by dressing up like it’s 1880. Worthing Community Play invites you to an 1880 Costume Day at the Sidney Walter Centre on Saturday April 13th at 2.00 to 5.00 pm. You can be upper, middle or working class – it’s your choice.
Worthing Community Play is a project to bring back Victorian Worthing to life funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF). The project is all about connecting people with their heritage through a Community Play involving everyone, no matter how old or young.
Christ Church in Grafton Road is the setting for the project and the play itself which takes place on 14th, 21st and 28th June – all Saturdays. The neo-Gothic Church is one of the most impressive buildings in West Sussex and was opened in 1843 – two years before the railway arrived.
