Roll up, roll up – calling all young artists, readers & storytellers!
Bring your picnic and pull up a deckchair from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon today (Saturday June 21st) to enjoy the creative activities on offer and book fair from World of Books.
Activities include Catch of the Day fish decorating, graffiti poetry and ancient map-making, or scribe a Secret Sea Scroll, dream up a Message in a Bottle or Float a Boat in our Word Ocean.
Then sit back and enjoy local storytellers perform new legends written by children from local schools.
The winning entry from the Secret Sea Story competition will be performed! All artwork created on the day will be exhibited on the Fishing Net exhibition at St Paul’s Centre, Worthing.
Talented author and illustrator, Adam Stower, shares extracts from his latest book ‘Troll and the Oliver’ and reminds children that cakes taste nicer than people!
The event is part of the Worthing World of Words Festival (WOW), a celebration of books, literature, drama and the joy of words.
Tickets for the picnic are £3.00 or £10.00 for a family of four (2 adults, 2 kids).
The Book Fair from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm is free entry from 12.00 noon.
The Pavilion Theatre is at the entrance to Worthing Pier.
