Five arrested in Montague Street fight

 

Police arrested five men after a fight in the Montague Street area in Worthing on Sunday April 7th. 

Three were charged with various offences, one bailed and another cautioned following the incident which spilled into Marine Parade at 10 pm.

A 26-year-old man was assaulted and an off duty police officer also assaulted after she intervened.

The victim went to hospital with an arm injury and the officer suffered bruising to her leg.

Valdemaras Garunkstis, 23, of no fixed address, was charged with affray, assault and assaulting a police officer in Worthing on April 7th.

Tadas Vaiciukiutis, 29, of no fixed address, was charged with affray, assault and theft in Worthing on April 7th.

Mantas Vaiciukiutis, 26, of Wordsworth Road, Worthing, was charged with affray, assault and assaulting a police officer at Worthing on April 7th.   All three were due to appear before Worthing Magistrates’ Court this afternoon (April 9th).

A 35-year-old man from Worthing who was arrested for affray at the scene is on bail until April 20th.

A man aged 49 from Coventry arrested at the scene for a public order offence was cautioned.
