Ford absconder charged with Worthing burglary

 

A man who absconded from Ford prison has been arrested and charged with being unlawfully at large and burglaries in Worthing and Hampshire.

Craig Hayler, 30, walked out of Ford Prison on March 10th this year. He was arrested in Southampton on July 29th. He has now been charged with being unlawfully at large as a result of him walking out of HMP Ford, making off without payment in April in Worthing, burglary in May in Worthing and burglary in July in Hedge End in Hampshire.

He has been remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Dave Wardley-Wilkins said: “We have been trying to locate Hayler for some time and am pleased he is now back in custody.”
