Four arrested afer Worthing man dies in van crash

 

A 27-year-old Worthing man died after a van he was travelling in left the road and collided with a tree shortly before 1.00 am on Saturday (June 13th).

The crash happened at the junction of Offington Avenue with Offington Drive, Worthing. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Four other men were in the van  – two 27-year-olds from Worthing, a 31-year-old from Worthing and a 32-year-old from Goring-by-Sea. All four were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The 31-year-old has since been bailed until July 3rd and the others until August 4th while investigations continue.

All four survivors were treated at Worthing Hospital for cuts and bruising sustained in the crash.

Anyone who saw what happened or who noticed the van, a red Vauxhall Movano, being driven shortly before the crash, is asked to come forward.
