Four Worthing paper boys attacked – update

 

Police have updated the information on the attack on four paper boys this morning (October 7th) in Worthing.

At 7.00 am two boys left the Elm Grove Newsagents in Elm Grove, Worthing and the other two left Taylors Newsagents in South Street, Tarring  on their cycles to carry out their paper delivery rounds.  Shortly afterwards each one was individually attacked in nearby streets.  Two bikes and a mobile phone were taken.

Following a swift police response an 18-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and is in custody for interview and further enquiries.

The boys are not reported to have been seriously hurt.

Sergeant Jo Webb said; “We are still looking for a second suspect and anyone who saw any of the incidents or has any other information is asked to call us on 101 or email: contact.centre@sussex.pnn.police.uk  quoting serial 0166 of  October 7th.

It was previously reported the four boys were from Martins Newsagents in Goring Road.
