Worthing Borough Council (WBC) yesterday (Friday June 27th) raised the possibility the Goring Road car park may be sold.
Recently local residents have complained to WBC about condition of the car park. Having taken the opportunity to fully assess it, WBC is temporarily closing the car park while a decision is made about its future.
The funds for resurfacing this car park are identified in the Council’s annual budget and they are working to bring the site up the priority list. Additionally, they are considering further options for the site’s future which may include sale..
Fencing was put up yesterday afternoon around the section of the car park they own (access to the homes and businesses is maintained). There are free on-street parking spaces as well as lay-bys nearby which should maintain parking access for residents, businesses and visitors alike.
The Council will keep the local community updated as more information becomes available. In the meantime, if you have any comments or questions, please do let them know either by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone on 01903 239999 (please ask for Parking Services).
