Great War display at Worthing Library

 

Worthing Library hosts a Great War touring display commemorating West Sussex people on the Home Front, and the Royal Sussex Regiment from Friday July 30th to Friday August 15th. 

Topics include: prelude to war, mobilisation & recruitment, Royal Sussex Regiment, Sussex goes khaki, invasion countermeasures, civilians at war, local economy & morale, women at war, treatment of the sick and wounded, churches, agriculture & food, peace celebrations and war memorials, those left behind & those who returned, postscript, the Great War project and Royal Flying Corps paintings.

A book, ‘Great War Britain’ will be published by West Sussex County Council and History Press which will be on sale at Worthing Library and local bookshops.
