Guild Care Homes celebrate Open Day

Guild Care Homes in Worthing are celebrating National Care Home Open Day on Friday June 20th by opening to the public three care homes.

Irene House is open between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm and again between 2.00 pm and 4pm.  David Rees, Guild Care’s Resident Liaison Officer, will be running activities on the day which will have a Sussex theme and perhaps a Mexican Wave. Refreshments will be available morning and afternoon for visitors.

Irene House is Parkfield Road, Tarring.

Caer Gwent is open between 10.30 am and 12.30 pm for morning coffee and again between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm for afternoon tea.  In the morning they are planning floor games with an ‘Around the World’ theme, followed by singing and bell ringing.  In the afternoon is a Quiz.

Visitors are welcome to pop in and see morning activities including the men’s group, chat to residents and tour the home.  On June 21st the home is open for their Strawberry Tea and Garden Party so you may find that they are preparing for this busy event which attracts lots of visitors from 2.30 pm to 4.30pm.

The Saturday event includes live music, stalls, games, homemade jams and marmalades, books and much more.  If you can’t visit on Friday, please come along on Saturday and enjoy a special Strawberry Tea in the glorious gardens.

Caer Gwent is in Downview Road, Worthing.

Linfield House is open to the public between 10.30 am and 12.30 noon when residents will be enjoying a Sussex Quiz and again between 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm for carpet bowls.

Linfield House is a home for people with varying degrees of dementia and is also home to Guild Care’s Time Out for Carers service. This service provides a safe, stimulating and caring environment for people with dementia on Mondays and Fridays where they can relax, enjoy music and gentle exercise, therapies, have their hair done or an assisted bath.

As the home will be very busy on Friday, please ring 01903 327327 to let them know you are visiting and if this is morning or afternoon. This will make catering and tours easier for visitors.

Lindfield House is at 18-22 Wykeham Road, Worthing.
