Heene First ‘school not flats’ celebrate victory

Heene First School Campaign are celebrating after the application to build flats on the Jolly Brewers site was refused at last night’s Planning Meeting (Wednesday July 23rd).  The campaign wishes the land to be used to expand the school instead.

Lisa Ottway for the campaign said: “It’s great news that the planning for flats has been refused. Our focus as parents is to ensure WSCC realise that the need for a larger outdoor space and space for future growth for the school is vital and that they have to buy the land for the school.  Hopefully now that the planning has been refused this will be easier.

“Our petition has over 1,500 signatures but we still need as many as we can get so we urge anyone who hasn’t signed to sign here:  http://epetition.westsussex.public-i.tv/epetition_core/community/petition/2794

The voting on the planning application was close but was refused mainly on design.
