This week is National Adoption Week running from Monday November 4th to 10th. If you are thinking about adoption West Sussex County Council’s adoption service is holding a special open evening in Billingshurst on Tuesday November 12th.
The event takes place from 7.00 pm to 9.00 pm at Billingshurst Community and Conference Centre, Roman Way, Billingshurst and will provide people with a chance to meet the adoption team, ask questions, and learn what it takes to become an adoptive parent.
Peter Evans, Cabinet Member for Children – Start of Life, said: “Choosing to adopt a child and offer them a permanent home is a wonderful thing, but it is also a life-changing decision.
“I would encourage anyone who is considering adoption to come along to the open evening to find out more about the process and what’s involved.
“Adoption is open to more people than you might think and parents can come from all walks of life, regardless of their marital status, sexuality, or cultural background.”
