Knife carrying burglar barges into Salvington house

A young black man with a large kitchen knife barged his way into a house in Salvington Road, Worthing late Friday night (September 20th) .

There was a knock at the door around 11.45 pm and as the lodger who lives at the house opened it  the suspect pushed his way past him and walked in.

He had the large kitchen knife held by his side.  Then he searched around the house and stole various items including cash, a mobile phone, a pair of nine carat gold earrings and a silver metal strapped Emporio Armani watch.

The suspect is described as black, 5′ to 5 3′, boyish looking, aged about 20, of slim build, and wearing a multi-coloured tight fitted beanie hat.

Detective Constable Andy Hobden said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victims, no one has the right to steal from someone else, let alone barge their way into their house.

“If anyone has any information in relation to this offence, contact 101 quoting serial 1832 of September 20th or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
