A specialist consultant is giving a presentation at Worthing Hospital about some of the most common illnesses of the digestive system, and to answer any questions people may have.
The presentation, about Ulcerative Colitis (UC) and Crohn’s Disease, is open to anyone wanting to know about the conditions.
About 250,000 people in the UK are estimated to have either UC or Crohn’s, which are the two most common forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Approximately 18,000 new cases are diagnosed each year, often among people aged under 40.
Dr Andy Li, consultant gastroenterologist at Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, will give a presentation at the event, and there will also be a Question and Answer session. The event, which is free to attend, is part of the ‘Medicine for Members’ series, which is primarily aimed at members of the country’s newest Foundation Trust, but all are welcome to attend.
The meeting is on Tuesday October 1st from 10.30 am to 11.15 am at the Boardroom in the Washington Suite, at Worthing Hospital.
Future Medicine for Members events include sessions on diabetes and urology.
