The warning covers all areas along the West Sussex Coast. The likely impact will be winds of 70 mph with isolated gusts of 80 mph expected along most exposed parts of the coast.
There is a possible disruption to travel as well as trees being uprooted and possible damage to buildings. As these very strong winds will be accompanied by large waves along the coast there is potential for dangerous conditions and possible coastal flooding.
The public are advised to keep away from the coastline during this period, and to secure or store items such as garden furniture.
