Neko, The Modes, Kilkovec and Arx are all playing at Bar 42 from 7.00 pm on Worthing seafront tonight (Saturday July 19th).
Formed when together at Worthing High School Neko are not just a bunch of lovely lads but now are a fantastic band Worthing can be proud of. Some of their new material is brilliant and their live sound needs to be heard.
The Modes are an alt-rock duo from Brighton formed in the summer of 2013. The duo are two friends, Daniel Seccombe (vocals and guitar) and John Thorley (drums and synth), who met at university studying Music Performance. The sound is very textual and dynamic using dirty single note rock riffs and deep synth drones. The Modes are heavily influenced by Wolfmother, The Dead Weather and The Black Keys.
Kilkovec did one gig at Bar 42 and they invited them back straight away. They are an alternative rock and with great vocals. From out of town they Kilkovec will become one of Bar 42’s non-local bands in the next 12 months.
Arx are also Royal Blood-esque in their set up but a female duo. Again one gig at Bar 42 and they come back straight away. Probably too good for an opener but Mark at Bar 42 expects you to be early for happy hour – so you will see them anyway.
Doors open at 7.00 pm – live music from 7.45 pm.
Bar 42 is at 42 Marine Parade on Worthing seafront.
