Pedestrian in fatal Swandean Hospital collision named

 

The pedestrian who was seriously injured yesterday morning after a collision with a HGV near Swandean Hospital sadly died in the afternoon.   The police have named the pedestrian as Ryan Chapman.

Mr Chapman, 29 of Goldsmith Road, Broadwater was flown by air ambulance to Southampton Hospital in a critical condition.   The lorry driver, a 42 year-old man from King’s Lynn, Norfolk suffered shock.

Police closed the A27, its junction with the A24 and the A280 for more than three hours for emergency services to deal with the incident and for the air ambulance to land.
