An ‘Amber Warning’ for wind has been issued by the Met Office for Monday October 28th.
Gusts of between 60-80 mph are predicted across West Sussex from 12.00 am onwards.
Coastal areas are expected to experience gusts of up to 80 mph.
The impact is expected to be particularly strong between 3.00 am and 9.00 am.
Members of the public are warned to put away or secure all outdoor furniture, ladders or anything else that could be blown into windows or other glazing to cause damage ahead of the severe weather.
West Sussex County Council would like to re-assure residents it is monitoring the situation closely and, together with emergency services and other partner organisations, is ready to act if required.
