Suite Francaise (15) is showing at the Connaught Cinema and Studio, Worthing from Friday March 13th to Wednesday April 8th.
Based on the best-selling novel by Irène Némirovsky and set during the German occupation of France during the Second World War, Suite Française tells the story of Lucile Angellier (Michelle Williams), who is leading a stifled existence with her domineering mother-in-law (Kristin Scott Thomas) as she awaits news of her husband, a prisoner of war.
When Parisian refugees pour into their village, soon followed by a regiment of German soldiers who board in the residents’ homes, Lucile’s life is turned upside down – and is further complicated by the arrival of refined German officer, Bruno (Matthias Schoenaerts).
