Sussex Police officers swapped their usual places of work to join colleagues in more visible roles on Wednesday August 27th. Assistant Chief Constable Steve Barry joined response officers in Worthing.
The Assistant Chief Constable crewed a response car and assisted in responses to emergency calls, an attempted robbery arrest and also helped the vulnerable victim of a burglary.
ACC Barry said: “I joined the Neighbourhood Response Team and was delighted to go out with these officers in their frontline duty for a whole shift. Public order training teams joined road policing colleagues in East Sussex and officers who normally work in training helped in Brighton’s response investigation.
“This is the second time we have done an All Out Day this month and it has been well received with many officers taking part, enjoying the opportunity to refresh their skills and help in areas of policing they don’t normally work in. We are planning on doing more in the Autumn.”
