West Sussex Trading Standards has signed its first partnership – with Arun Estates, one of the largest independent estate agencies in South East England, with more than 100 branches.
The West Sussex-based business operating across many counties recently signed up to a Primary Authority Partnership which will simplify the way they are regulated by Trading Standards officers and help cut red tape.
A Primary Authority Partnership is a Government backed scheme benefiting businesses by providing assured advice, consistency of regulation and reduces duplication of inspections and paperwork.
Once companies have joined the scheme, the advice provided by their Trading Standards partner is recognised by all Trading Standards Services where they do business.
“Any size of company can join the scheme, and the advantage is that advice is tailored to suit the individual businesses, with the assurance that it is respected by all local regulators,” explained Lionel Barnard, West Sussex County Council Cabinet Member responsible for Trading Standards.
“We will be able to provide other regulators with evidence of compliance, helping the business to reduce costs and avoid the need to deal with multiple regulators”
Loretta Strong, Compliance & Client Liaison Director for Arun Estates, said “We are committed to providing our customers with the highest level of service to ensure that their dream move runs as smoothly as possible and believe that this starts with responsible and compliant working practices.
“The Primary Authority Partnership will allow us to seek advice on any aspect of the regulations governing our industry which can only benefit our business and customers.
“Channelling communications through one Authority that has audited and approved our working practices is bound to assist in resolving any concerns more smoothly.”
Any West Sussex based company interested in joining the scheme, or wanting more information can call Trading Standards on 01243 642124 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
