How to vote

How to vote

Worthing Daily invited all five political parties standing in the Worthing Borough Council election on Thursday May 22nd to ‘set out their stall’ in a maximum 800 words.  It will be their chance to tell you how to vote.

All five agreed to take part and we will post their thoughts unedited tomorrow.  We are awaiting one laggard.  No specific candidates are to be referred to but specific issues are fine.

We encourage all our readers to not miss the opportunity to vote – to take part in local democracy.  Of course you must be registered to vote and if you have not done so already you will have to do so latest Tuesday May 6th.

Polling stations are open from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm on the day but if you are unable to get there you can vote by postal vote beforehand.  The last day to apply for a postal vote is Wednesday May 7th by 5.00 pm.  You can also vote by proxy and the last chance to apply for a proxy vote is 5.00 pm on Wednesday May 14th.

To apply or find out more ring Electoral Services at Worthing Borough Council on 01903 239999 – they are very helpful.

There is not much comment from Worthing Daily this week – we leave that to the contestants.  Don’t forget to read what they have to say and most importantly don’t forget to vote.
