Martin Harvey, project manager at Kier Homes’ The Waterfront Worthing development has been announced as a Quality Award Winner in the first round of the NHBC (National House-Building Council) Pride in the Job Awards.
Renowned as the Oscars of the house-building industry, the Pride in the Job Awards recognise and reward the UK’s best site managers and provide homebuyers with extra peace of mind about the quality of their new home. Competition is tough, with only the top 3% of the 15,000 site
managers competing winning an award. The year-long judging process sees each site manager put through their paces and assessed across 38 areas of site management defined by the NHBC.
Martin, who has worked for Kier Homes for the last 10 years, said: “I’m delighted to have been named as one of the UK’s leading site managers and it’s fantastic recognition for the whole team.”
Martin was one of seven from Kier Homes to win the award.
Nick Moore, managing director of Kier Homes, said: ”This is an amazing endorsement for the quality of our homes. All our teams consistently demonstrate incredible professionalism and to see the dedication of seven of our site managers recognised by the NHBC is tremendous.
“These awards provide further assurance for everyone buying a Kier home of the amazing workmanship and pride in the job that all our employees demonstrate.”
Mike Quinton, NHBC chief executive, said: “For nearly 35 years, Pride in the Job has been a fundamental component of NHBC’s work to raise standards through the celebration and sharing of best practice. Our winners are at the forefront of the house-building recovery, making sure
that quality is maintained and improved year-on-year, as they raise the bar for success in the competition.”
Having successfully completed the first of four stages, the winners will now compete in the next round of the competition to win Seals of Excellence and/or Regional Award titles.
