West Sussex apprentices get awards

Two former West Sussex County Council apprentices picked up awards at the recent Northbrook College Apprenticeship Celebration Evening.  The wards were presented by local Olympic silver medallist Tina Cook.

Lucy Adams won the Health and Social Care Award having completed her Level 2 Care Apprenticeship.  Lucy is now employed at New Tyne, Durrington and is studying for a Level 3 Diploma.

Natasha Smith came top in the Business Admin category after completing her Level 2 and 3 Apprenticeship with Office Services. Natasha now works for Angmering School.

Lionel Barnard, Deputy Leader of West Sussex County Council who is responsible for Communities, Environment and Enterprise, said: “It is wonderful to see two of our recent apprentices receiving recognition for their achievements and their hard work.

“There are many challenges facing today’s young people, especially in gaining employment once they have left school or college.

“Apprenticeships can provide young people with some fantastic opportunities to earn and learn professional skills to embark on their future careers.”
