Two fliers in the Worthing International Birdman Contest broke the 100 metre target yesterday (Saturday July 12th) and the £10,000 prize has definitely been won.
In the first flight of the Condor Class Tony Hughes broke the jackpot line flying 117.1 metres and then Ron Freeman smashed the new record by achieving 159.8 metres.
Both men fly again today (Sunday July 13th) and so there is still all to play for.
Overnight record holder Geordie Ron Freeman said: “I feel like I won the lottery.”
Flying starts today at 12.00 noon from Worthing Pier.
