Conservative Tom Wye has gained the Tarring Ward seat in the Worthing Borough Council election held yesterday (Thursday May 7th). The seat was previously held by Hazel Thorpe for the Liberal Democrats. Cllr Wye rejoins the Council after resigning over the NCP deal in February 2014.
In second place was Hazel Thorpe for the Liberal Democrats, third Adrian Price for UKIP, fourth Jim Deen for Labour and fifth Ross Johnson for the Green Party.
Result as follows (2014 in brackets):
Tom Wye – Conservative – 1464 (470)
Hazel Thorpe – Liberal Democrat – 1110 (714)
Adrian Price – UKIP – 754 (664)
Jim Deen – Labour – 587 (218)
Ross Johnson – Green – 321 (196)
The Conservatives now hold one seat in Tarring Ward and the Liberal Democrats the other two.
