Worthing driver arrested after collision on A27 at Warren Road

 

A 57 year-old Worthing woman was arrested this morning (Tuesday September 10th) after two cars collided on the A27 at Warren Road. Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision which happened around 8.00 am.

A silver Peugeot heading westbound struck a traffic island and turned onto its side, moving into the eastbound carriageway where it collided with a silver Citroen.

The driver of the Peugeot suffered a minor hand injury and was taken to Worthing Hospital for treatment. She was then arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving while unfit through drink or drugs.

The driver of the Citroen, a 51-year-old female from Worthing, was not injured.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the collision or the Peugeot being driven in the moments before the accident.
